Waliene moved to Anton with her family in December, 1924. She joined the Baptist Church in Anton in 1932. She managed the household, looked after the children and worked with husband "Tom" to manage their business by helping with the
bookkeeping, billing and other tasks. They lived in a small town of about 1,000 population (Anton) in northwest Texas, surrounded by some of the largest cotton farming operations in the U.S.--B. Spradley
