OBITUARY: P. M. Smith passes away. Pat M. Smith after a short illness died in a hospital at Lordsburg on Monday Feb. 17 at 8:30 P. M. Mr. Smith underwent a major operation a few days before but complications arose which medical skill could not
overcome. His death is a shock to his many friends here. Mr. Smith was born in San Saba, Texas October 22, 1873. He came to Arizona in 1895 and was engaged in the cattle business for a number of years in old Mexico and in the vicinity of
Douglas. About four years ago Mr. and Mrs. Smith came to Bowie. Mr. Smith purchased a ranch in the Whitlock country about 16 miles north of Bowie where he has successfully engaged in the cattle business. Mrs. Smith made her home in Bowie. Mr.
Smith is survived by his wife, a step son, Milton Thomas, of El Paso , Texas, an aged mother Mrs. Elizabeth Smith , three brothers, Clarence, Green and Lee, of San Saba, Texas and two sisters Mrs. Fay Chaney of Marietta, Oklahoma, and Mrs.
Riley Roberds (Temperance C. Smith) of San Saba, Texas. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church Wednesday and burial made in the Bowie cemetery.--B. Spradley
